Former ‘Miss World’ Rosanna Davison Set To Publish Book On Motherhood
Rosanna Davison, former Miss World and now a mom of three, is all set to share her journey through motherhood in her latest book.
Rosanna Davison, former Miss World and now a mom of three, is all set to share her journey through motherhood in her latest book.
Her proud dad, singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh, revealed that his daughter was revving up to release her journey involving miscarriages and life-changing surprises including the birth of her twins in her upcoming book. According to The Irish Sun, Davison has signed a deal with Gill Publishing to publish her upcoming book expected to strike a personal chord with readers.
So, what do fans have to look forward to in the upcoming book? A lot, apparently. The 2003 Miss World winner will put pen to paper recounting the painful journey of going through 14 miscarriages. After braving out the rough phase, Davison, and husband Wesley Quirke finally got the good news they were looking for. On November 22, 2019, the model gave birth to their daughter, Sophia, who was conceived by gestational surrogacy.
Things were only about to get better! While 2020 has been something of a dreadful year for most, the same can’t be said for Davison. She conceived twins, Oscar and Hugo, naturally during the lockdown and gave birth to them in October, 2020. She shared the happy news with fans on her Instagram page by uploading a photo of herself breastfeeding little Hugo in the NICU. While Hugo was born almost a pound lighter than Oscar, he soon caught up with him.
The model has been more than open with fans, sharing weekly updates on how the twins were growing, and how little Sophia was also filling the ‘big sister’ shoes pretty well. Sharing her experience of postpartum changes, she spoke about how much carrying twins had changed her body. That said, she admitted to missing her baby bump while appreciating the impressive adaptability of the human body.
Though Davison has put up a heartwarmingly courageous show, she did have her moments of doubt. “We didn’t give up hope, but you have to be a realist. By 2017, I had had so many consecutive miscarriages that I had begun to think it wouldn’t happen, maybe we weren’t destined for this,” she admitted.
Her father, Chris de Burgh, didn’t hold back from opening up about his daughter’s rough ride. In his chat with The Irish Sun, he got emotional as he spoke about his Davison’s struggle to conceive. “One would be devastating for a woman but 14. I don’t know how Rosanna did it,” he said. He expressed his awareness of how difficult it is for women who’ve had miscarriages to come out and speak about their journeys. This is where he thinks Rosanna’s book is going to be a revelation for many who’ve had similar experiences.
Like Davison, many women have swallowed the bitter pill of miscarriages, and are looking for some hope to carry on. We hope the former Miss World’s book achieves this, touching many lives with an encouraging message of hope and perseverance.
