Open Your Heart
Do you still remember the scene in the classic holiday cartoon “How Foreigners Stole Christmas”, when foreigners finally understood the gift of selfless love, and their hearts swelled and filled with joy?
When we spend time practicing yoga on our back, we are essentially creating space for more love and sympathy, and releasing the fear that may restrict us from living the truest life.
In order to invite more love and sympathy into your life, it is important to release old resentment and hurt, which may hinder you from expressing your emotions. There are two main human emotions in our hearts: love and fear. Part of human experience includes love and pain. When you are hurt, when you are healed, it is natural to protect yourself. But usually, the initial healing process will turn into fear and emotional disorder. Yes, we don’t want our hearts to be torn from our chests, but to be really strong, we must become weak.
This fear of pain is reflected in our chest and shoulders. Our shoulders lean forward. If we don’t try to keep opening this area of our body, we will find that we have closed the possibility of future happiness forever. Yoga saves the world! Backbone emphasizes Anahata chakra, which is the place of sympathy, where we transcend ourselves and love ourselves and develop the ability to love others. By practicing opening and strengthening the heart and learning to breathe deeply, we created an open heart.
The back also positively affects the Shu Da chakra at the bottom of our throat, which is where we tell the truth. Many of us find it difficult to state our thoughts and feelings clearly. Trying to remove the barriers of our verbal expression can make us speak from the heart.
In addition to overprotective heart, there are many reasons why you make sit-ups a routine part of yoga practice. Open-heart postures like Bujangasana (cobra pose), UTerrasa (camel style) and Danu lassana (bow style) can enhance energy, increase heat and strengthen spine. We spent a lot of time pushing our shoulders forward-can you say “smartphone shoulder”? Maintaining optimal alignment of the spine is essential for a healthy posture, which means that the front of the shoulders and chest should be open.
The back is also full of vitality, making people feel happy! Of course, proper alignment and intelligent sorting of your unique anatomical structure is very important to successfully open your heart and strengthen your spine. Take time to strengthen your heart and forgive yourself, which may prevent you from becoming the freest and most compassionate person.
